Emotion Regulation Abilities and quality of object relations among psychiatric outpatients

John S. Ogrodniczuk, Ph.D., David Kealy, M.S.W., and Gail Howell-Jones, Ph.D. – Vancouver

How people regulate emotions affects their relationships, well-being, and stress.  Individuals differ in their ability to regulate emotions - some choosing more mature and successful strategies than others.  This study will examine whether emotion regulation abilities are associated with the quality of interpersonal relationships among patients attending a psychiatric outpatient clinic.
