I am still reading your site, will do so for some time to come and use it for reference in the future. Excellent work and very well presented. Thank you. Well done 'Poole' a fine example to those who limit the dissemination of knowledge and 'perhaps' to retain status. Gerry, Mallorca

Excellent, have found the right balance to tell people what it's all about. If a link is put with some major website, this would definitely be very popular! Good Luck

The site looks excellent. I have added it to my bookmarks to look at in greater detail later. I liked the quote on the Home Page "... I've come to the regrettable conclusion that ups and downs are normal." Maybe it's not 'regrettable', perhaps we have been made that way for a purpose! John Simpson 1/6/05

I am in the process of reading your site...in the past year I have had to deal with the loss of my mum and broke up with someone I planned on spending the rest of my life with. I relocated and started a new job and recently started having panic attacks. I didnt know what the claustrophobic feeling of wanting to run out of my house was until someone told me I was experiencing panic attacks. I hope that your site can provide more insight into what I am experiencing. Thank you

I found this site to be a great compilation of all the research the team completed. I recommended the site as a resource for a peer's presentation on emotional intelligence. ~ Kristen

NEXT EMOTIONS AT WORK SEMINAR: DATE Friday 23-6-06 Following the huge success of the Emotions at Work Conference held at the Tavistock Centre in September 2005, we are delighted to announce a further seminar event taking place at Liverpool John Moores University on 23-6-06. This event will extend the debates surrounding the sociology of emotions, social public health, cultural and identity issues and will focus on the emotional identities of communities and individuals in relation to urban regeneration. This event is especially timely as Liverpool (once described by Boris Johnson as a city addicted to grief) has been awarded the Capital of Culture 2008. What this means to people in terms of recreating emotional identities provides a rich area for debate. please contact b.weaver@ljmu.ac.uk to reserve your place see flyer in future events, on www.emotions-at-work.co.uk

Hello, I am a graduate student in the field of clinical psychology. I am very much interested in the study of emotions, and this site has been very helpful and informative. It is helping me to pinpoint my areas of specialty and research in emotional processing and catharsis. Thank you.

My intensity of panic attacks has reduced, since first started 5 years ago at age 50, to occasional irregular heart beat and feeling cold: no outside help just considerable forbearance, and inspiration by Buddhist and Taoist psychological theories. Right thinking and right seeing of the opposite sex. No impossible dreams (ambition) apart from the impossible star of joyous health. Gestalt pragmatism and reality most impressive.

Wow, thank you so much. It's taken me 35 years to come to this conclusion. At 28, 5 months after having a horrendous delivery of my daughter we were covered in pesticides (approx 100 times above normal. I struggled with life, I asked my doctor at the age of 49 it it was possible I had ME. He told me to go home it was all in my mind. 6 months later I had a massive epileptic fit. From the recovery of that It has taken me to the age of 62 to discover these things. Slow learner hey. I now feel better than I was at the age of 30. I still don't process emotional feelings well, and they can still bring on all manner of disorders. Two months ago I recognised this and low and behold I read your article in the local paper. Thank you I am normal after all. That feels so good.

The book emotional processing was very good - the healing processes very similar to Re-evaluation Counselling - people reacing emotionally and articulating their concerns towards healing - resolving problems and benefitting overall health. Dudley Smith
